JETTRIBE SPONSORS LARGEST JET SKI RACING EVENT IN THE WORLD
Jettribe received the honor of being named the Official
Gear Sponsor of the Jet Ski World Cup
TEMECULA, CA – Earlier this month, the powersport
brand Jettribe, which relocated their distribution center to the city of
Sulphur Springs, Texas earlier this year, became the Official Gear Sponsor of
the Thai Airways Jet Ski World Cup in Thailand.
It was an honor for the company to become such a high-level sponsor of
this prestigious international race, which has long been regarded as one of the
best jet ski racing competitions in the world. The race also marked the end of
the 2019 Jet Ski World Series, which Jettribe was involved in sponsoring. The 3-event series named a “Triple Crown”
winner for each Pro Level racing class from the Jettribe European Championship,
the Thai Airways Lake Havasu World Finals, and the Thai Airways Jet Ski World
Cup.
Jettribe was established in
Southern California as a brand of gear, apparel, and accessories for personal
watercraft racers and riders. The brand
will celebrate their 25th Anniversary in 2021, and maintains both a
corporate office in California, and their brand-new Distribution Center in
Sulphur Springs. Jettribe has grown from a local family owned business printing
t-shirt in a garage, to a worldwide brand serving both the jet ski racing
community, and also watercraft recreation sports.
Jettribe sent a small group
of staff members and elite riders to Thailand to experience the race firsthand,
and dive into the local culture in the beautiful resort city of Pattaya,
Thailand. Their goal each year is to
create opportunities for their sponsored riders to travel and compete in new
venues. Their local distributor in Thailand, Freedom Racing / Jettribe
Thailand, generously donated the use of a stock Kawasaki 1500 stand-up race ski.
All three riders had never competed in Thailand before. Wyland Reden from
Lake Elsinore, California was there to compete in his last Junior Age 13-15
race before his 16th birthday next month. Team Rider Ben Morris from New
Zealand was excited to participate in both the Expert Ski Limited & Pro Am
Ski Stock classes. One of Jettribe’s top Pro Racers, Factory Rider Stian Schjetlein,
traveled from Norway to use the same ski in Pro Ski GrandPrix.
The Thailand Jet Ski World
Cup, organized under the International Jet Sport Boating Association (IJSBA),
was held December 5th – 8th and saw more than 1,500
racers from over 20 countries participate.
The pit areas for each country lined the beach a quarter mile to the
left and right of the main grandstands. Professional
event announcers Dawn Dawson and Dave Arnold from the United States made their
premier debut at the race, which was broadcast on the European Channel
“EuroSport” as well as on Facebook Live.
Jettribe saw their riders
achieve great success at the race. Pro Factory
Rider Phil Pope from
the UK had an amazing run and got to step up to the podium with 3rd Place
in Pro Runabout GP. Zsolt
Cseke from the Kasza Racing Team in Hungary took home the
Triple Crown trophy for Expert Veterans R/A Limited. Factory Rider Aqsa Aswar from
Indonesia finished 4th in the crowded Endurance class.
Jettribe will be bringing
professional jet ski racing to the local community by hosting a Jet Ski Exposition
Event May 16th, 2020 at Coleman Park in Sulphur Springs, Texas. The race
will be the inaugural event of the Jettribe Watercraft Series. Jettribe wanted to create the series both as
thank you to the local community for recruiting Jettribe to open their new
Distribution Center in the region, but also a chance to showcase the talent of
local jet ski riders in East Texas. The exposition will be a showcase of
several different types of racing styles, and well as other powersport
recreation activities like wakeboarding.
Registration information will be coming soon to www.jettribe.com[1].
